The table below has a description of the climb, Strava segment links, and website content links.
|Clingman’s Dome||This is the highest point in Tennessee, which can be climbed either from Cherokee, NC, Gatlinburg, TN, or the short way from Newfound Gap. It is a long climb both ways, over 20 miles, which includes a 7-mile jaunt through the park. The path to the observation tower is very steep, but worth it to check out the breathtaking views.||Strava (Cherokee to top), Strava (Clingman’s Dome Road), Clingman’s Dome|
|Sam’s Gap||This is a lengthy climb, just over 6 miles. The grade is rarely punishing, although it does get steeper as you continue to climb. The max grade is around 8%. Overall the elevation gain is 1,400, which is gained consistently without many steep ramps.||Strava, Hot Doggett|
