The table below has a description of the climb, Strava segment links, and website content links.

Climb Description Links
Clingman’s Dome This is the highest point in Tennessee, which can be climbed either from Cherokee, NC, Gatlinburg, TN, or the short way from Newfound Gap. It is a long climb both ways, over 20 miles, which includes a 7-mile jaunt through the park. The path to the observation tower is very steep, but worth it to check out the breathtaking views. Strava (Cherokee to top), Strava (Clingman’s Dome Road), Clingman’s Dome
Sam’s Gap This is a lengthy climb, just over 6 miles. The grade is rarely punishing, although it does get steeper as you continue to climb. The max grade is around 8%. Overall the elevation gain is 1,400, which is gained consistently without many steep ramps. Strava, Hot Doggett
