Chapel Hill/Carrboro/Raleigh
Lystra Rd – This is the largest hill in the area, with 3.2 miles of total uphill and a category 4 rating. The toughest pitch is just under a mile, with about 10-11% at the steepest. The locals call this the Col du Lystra.
Smith Level Rd – This nice little hill is just south of downtown Carrboro. There are two hills on either side of the Highway 54 intersection. The climb back into Carrboro seemed to be the tougher of the two, but not by much. This would be a nice section for hill repeats when traffic is low.
